With special guests from UNL Libraries: In this video, recorded in April 2024, participants in the First Year Research Experience (FYRE) and Undergraduate Creative Activities & Research Experiences (UCARE) programs delve into the intricacies of scholarly communication, publication, and research-sharing platforms!

Professor Sue Gardner and Scholarly Communications Product Specialist Linnea Fredrickson will address the following topics toward becoming a more informed and empowered participant in our academic community:

• Scholarly Communication(s): Understand copyright, authors’ rights, and responsibilities in academic publishing.
• Starting a Conversation with Your Mentor: Learn how to engage with faculty on publications and ask insightful questions.
• Platforms to Share Research and Creative Activity: Explore the UNL Digital Commons, what content can be submitted, and how to do so effectively.
