My name is Rachael Lange, and I’m a senior from Raymond, Nebraska with majors in Philosophy and Russian and a minor in Global Studies. I’m also a member of the University Honors Program and a Regents Scholar. I applied for the Critical Languages Scholarship to gain immersive experience in Russian, refine the skills I’ve learned at the university, and begin building cultural bridges in this important language. I believe that communicating with people in their native language increases empathy, understanding, and kinship. After the program, I will be completing my final semester at UNL and graduating December 2022.
