Cole Kovarik of Kearney was awarded a fellowship from the German Academic Exchange grant and a Fulbright grant to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Bremen and Jacobs University Bremen. He will pursue a Master of Arts in International Relations: Global Governance and Social Theory, a program with faculty that specializes in his chief research areas of relationships between civil society organizations and international institutions and democracy.

In this time at UNL, Kovarik had the opportunity to work on various research projects and complete his honors thesis under the supervision of Courtney Hillebrecht and Emira Ibrahimpasic. In addition to his domestic experience in research, Kovarik has also had international experience with an internship at the United States Embassy in Berlin.
