MASA was founded in 1970 by a group of students who wanted to find a Latino family on campus. Since its founding, MASA has worked to spread an understanding of Latino culture and traditions to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus and the community. MASA strives to provide a home away from home for Latinos who are making the transition to life as a college student. Not only do we serve our campus, but we are here to offer a helping hand in the community. We work closely with Lincoln organizations and hope to create a strong support system for young Latinos in Nebraska.
While the name of our organization might be misleading, we welcome students of all backgrounds! Anyone with an interest in meeting new people, making great friends, and learning more about Latino culture is seen as an asset to the organization. We invite anyone and everyone to come see what MASA is all about!
Meetings are held every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center in the Unity Room.
