Padlock Ranch Company Summer Internship – Ranchester, Wyoming
This individual will be part of a team of experienced cowboys responsible for day-to-day cattle health and general tasks pertaining to the ranch feedlot, including care of cattle out on pivot and pasture adjacent to the feedlot. All cow work is done horseback. Accordingly, good horsemanship and livestock handling skills are a plus but individuals with a positive attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. In addition, this individual will assist with maintenance of the feedlot pens and fencing, including fencing adjacent to the feedlot. As part of the Padlock Ranch team, individuals are given the opportunity to assist with branding crews on Padlock Ranch’s outside ranch units.
This individual will be taught a variety of skills during the term of the internship including pasture management, animal husbandry, identifying and doctoring cattle in the feedlot and out on pastures, moving large groups of cattle in an efficient manner, heat detection during AI, proper fencing skills, pen maintenance, and operating heavy equipment.
The Padlock Ranch Company Summer Internship is a paid experience with housing provided. In addition, the individual will be provided a string of horses for use during the term of the internship.
