About the Role:
The Business Consulting Group (BCG) is an internal companywide management consulting resource dedicated to partnering with leaders to achieve the company’s critical business priorities. As a member of BCG, you would partner with other BCG consultants to provide a wide range of general management consulting services by participating in projects designed to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness through process analysis, workflow redesign, and/or functional assessments. In addition, your experience would include exposure to internal management consulting methods and processes along with the opportunity to gain an understanding of the health care and insurance industries.
What you’ll do…
- Collaborate with BCG project leads to assist with the scoping, planning, and execution of assigned consulting engagements
- Complete quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the objectives of assigned projects, including incorporating market and industry research and identifying project-specific impact metrics, as appropriate
- Conduct and synthesize interviews and engage in other research methods to gather information relevant to assigned projects
- Assist with facilitating meetings and small workgroups within a consulting engagement
- Complete assigned project activities with minimal supervision
- Develop project related deliverables with minimal supervision, including PowerPoint presentations, project plans/timelines, process workflow diagrams, interview guides, meeting facilitation plans, meeting minutes, status reports, and issue/risk logs
- Present updates, findings, and recommendations to internal project sponsors and other company leaders and associates at all levels of the organization both in person and by utilizing video conferencing technology (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom), as needed for assigned projects

- Strong understanding of business process analysis and improvement, project management, and change management approaches and principles along with demonstrated project management and/or consulting skills
- Ability to deal effectively with ambiguous situations
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to a wide variety of audiences
- Results oriented with a high degree of initiative and ability to act as a team player
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects and assignments
- High degree of professionalism and confidence along with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of an organization
- Strong PC skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and familiarity with data analysis tools and modeling
- Ability to research, analyze, and incorporate healthcare industry strategy and apply human centered design concepts to solving business challenges
- Must have ability to travel to and between BCBSMA sites for in-person meetings, including local travel to alternate locations external to BCBSMA, as required by project responsibilities
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree required. Candidate for Master of Business Administration or other advanced degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience, including demonstrated experience in a consulting and/or project management role
