Two Career Peer Coaches from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Nolan Wolfe and Caleb Burnside, have very exciting career opportunities in the near future. Nolan, a previous intern at Bayer has accepted a full-time position as a Field Sales Representative Trainee. For Caleb, he will begin his journey with Bayer as a Crop Science Sales Intern. Their involvement as Career Peer Coaches and opportunities with Bayer are not the only things they have in common.
For both Nolan and Caleb, they credit Career Services’ resources for helping them with their professional development.
“I met with previous career coaches who helped me enhance my resume and taught me invaluable tips and tricks for effectively attending career fairs. Career services played a vital role in my professional accomplishments during my time at UNL,” said Nolan.
“I loved meeting with the CASNR Career Coaches and working one-on-one on my resume or possible interview scenarios. They offered me a lot of advice from their personal experiences and gave me a Job Search Guide with more information and examples of professionalism,” said Caleb.
Both Nolan and Caleb are eager to embrace the opportunities ahead in their respective roles. Nolan shared that his responsibilities include supporting sales efforts, building customer relationships, and growing market share through the guidance of his mentor. He looks forward to further developing his skills in agronomy, sales, and business, managing accounts, implementing plans and utilizing digital tools.
Caleb, on the other hand, is excited to work in a challenging, professional environment. He sees the internship as a chance to gain hands-on experience in agronomy, crop science, and sales, while exploring Bayer’s team collaboration. Caleb is eager to build valuable connections with professionals across various fields, work closely with his mentor and gain insights that will help shape his career path.
Beyond the classroom and their strong professional endeavors, the two are both actively involved in extracurricular activities.
Nolan serves as historian for UNL Agronomy Club, where he manages the club’s promotion on social media and organizes guest speakers. Caleb is involved in Alpha Gamma Sigma, Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council, NHRI Mentorship Program, Engler Entrepreneurship Program, SALT College Ministry, UNL Collegiate Farm Bureau and Agricultural Future of America.
