Inclement Weather Policy
Our Inclement Weather Policy is established to ensure the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff and visitors of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) during severe weather conditions. Inclement weather includes but is not limited to severe snowstorms, icy conditions, extreme cold temperatures, and other weather-related emergencies that may pose a threat to the safety of individuals on campus. University Career Services (UCS) will maintain regular operations as long as UNL remains open. In the event that UNL should close, all UCS operations will also be cancelled. Information regarding closures or delays will be communicated by email as early as possible, and prominently displayed on both the UNL and UCS official website homepages, unl.edu and careers.unl.edu. We will provide a full refund, less a $50 administration fee of any registration fees paid, or the option to apply full registration fees toward participation in a future career fair, in the event of a cancellation.
Shipping Booth Materials
If you are choosing to ship packages to UNL ahead of the fair, please schedule them to arrive no earlier than Monday, February 9, 2026.

Prepare for the Day
- Promote your openings: Post your jobs on Handshake and link them to your fair registration so students can view them in advance. Need help? Here's how to post a job and how to link it to your registration.
- Connect with students: Reach out on Handshake or LinkedIn to let them know you’ll be attending and would love to meet them. Be intentional, students can spot a mass message!
- Prepare for the day: Expect a busy, energetic environment. Dress comfortably, stay hydrated, and review last year's fair statistics to help you prepare.
- Follow up easily: Capture student information easily using the Handshake QR code at your booth. Students who check in will have their information automatically sent to you after the fair. You can also download it later, here's how.
- Stay in the loop: Add handshake@mail.joinhandshake.com as a safe sender in your email. Important event communications will be sent from this address as the fair approaches, and you won’t want to miss them!
Local Hotels & Accommodations
Since we are located right in Downtown Lincoln, you will be close to a variety of hotels, all within walking distance to campus. Head to the link below for a list of accommodations.
During the Fair
Welcome, Unloading & Parking
CITY Campus Unloading & Check-In Instructions:
Starting at 11:45AM, employers with multiple participating reps can pull up in front of the Nebraska Union (1400 R St. Lincoln NE 68588) to unload any passengers with booth materials. The Larson Building Parking Garage at 1317 Q St, Lincoln, NE 68508 is the closest lot to the Union. Parking validations will be provided upon check in.
PLEAST NOTE: Staff-assisted unloading may not be available for our spring fairs. Notification will be provided if this service is canceled, so please plan accordingly.
After parking, walk to the Nebraska East Union and make your way to the Great Plains room on the second floor. See the Nebraska East Union floorplan here.
Booth Placement Details
Booths are placed on a first-paid, first-served basis. The best way to get the best booth spot is to settle your invoice asap. If you believe you will have problems doing so, please contact Career Services to come up with a plan.
Career Fair Booth Maps:
If you are unable to locate your organization on the map, it might be temporarily hidden due to an unpaid invoice. Please review your registration to ensure payment has been remitted. Questions, please contact Career Services.
Collect Student Information
We offer the option to utilize the Handshake In-Person Booth Check-In system. Here's how it works:
Step 1: Receive Your Unique Handshake QR Code
Each participating organization will receive a unique QR code for their booth. You do not need to print it ahead of time, we’ll have it ready for you at your table.
Step 2: Student Check-In
When students approach your booth, invite them to scan your QR code to “check in.” It never hurts to double check that they've completed the process before they leave your booth.
Step 3: Post-Fair Benefits
After the fair, students will get a list of the employers they visited, and your fair registrar will receive a list of the students who checked in, along with their contact information. You can also download it later, here's how. This process makes it easy for both students and employers to stay connected. Participation isn’t required, but we encourage you to give it a try.
We also encourage students to bring printed resumes. If you can’t accept paper copies or prefer not to, please communicate that preference clearly to students.
Wi-Fi Access
Career participants can access free Wi-Fi by selecting NU Guest and logging in with the following credentials:
Education (February 25):

Employer Lunch & Lounge
Employer Lunch:
Education (February 25, City Campus):
Each participating representative will receive a lunch ticket to eat at one of our Nebraska Union vendors (Valentino’s, Chick-fil-A, Husker Heroes, Imperial Palace). If you choose not to eat in the Union, downtown restaurants are within walking distance. Lunch tickets are not valid at off-campus restaurants or Starbucks in the Union.
Employer Lounge & Interview Space:
Located in The Ballroom (in the back of the fair space) with refreshments, a quiet space to relax or take a call, and an area for on-the-spot interviews!
Photography Policy
Photography is permitted at the career fair to capture positive moments, but attendees should be considerate of comfort levels, avoid actions increasing pressure on students during interactions with employers, and ensure open aisles for student movement due to the crowded space.
After the Fair
Post-Fair Pick-Up
If you are needing assistance with bringing your items downstairs to the loading zone, please pack up your items, fill out the label provided on your table and place it on your items. This will alert staff to bring your items to the loading zone, same location as the unloading zone in the morning.
Shipping Booth Materials
After the fair, take your packed materials to the Career Services Office (Nebraska Union, Room 225). There we will have stations for you to drop off your already-packed displays to be picked up at your scheduled time.
Please note: It is the employer’s responsibility to contact your shipping provider to schedule pickup of your materials. We’re happy to hold your packages and provide a convenient drop-off location, but shipping arrangements must be made directly by your team.
Career Fair Feedback
We’d love to hear your thoughts after the fair! A post-event survey will be emailed to you. If you don’t receive it, please contact us at careerservices@unl.edu.
