Inclement weather includes but is not limited to severe snowstorms, icy conditions, extreme cold temperatures, and other weather-related emergencies that may pose a threat to the safety of individuals on campus. Prepare for the Day
- Make sure your jobs are posted on Handshake and attached to your fair registration! Students will be able to see these before the fair. For more information on how to post, view our website.
- If you are having a hard time updating your career fair registration, here is a guide to help.
- Connect with students via Handshake or LinkedIn to let them know you're coming and would love to meet with them. Be as intentional as possible as students are often turned off by what appears to be a mass message!
- Mentally prep for a long day of standing and talking with the vast amount of students who come into our fair each day. The more engaging you are in pulling them into your table, the better conversations you'll have.
- We're lucky to have busy career fairs, which means the venue can get warm and loud. Please prepare accordingly, and take advantage of our Employer Lounge for a break when you need it.
- Have a plan on how to capture student information. You can use the Career Services-provided Handshake QR code or bring your own system.
- We know not every employer wants printed resumes. We still encourage students to bring printed materials as each employer has unique contact preferences. Feel free to turn down the print version in favor of your own digital collection system.
Local Hotels & Accommodations
Since we are located right in Downtown Lincoln, you will be close to a variety of hotels, all within walking distance to campus. Head to the link below for a list of accommodations.

Booth Placement Details
Booths are placed on a first-paid, first-served basis. The best way to get the best booth spot is to settle your invoice asap. If you believe you will have problems doing so, please contact Chance Radtke to come up with a plan.
Career Fair Booth Maps:
*Note booth locations are subject to change due to last-minute registration and event layout changes
Maps will be available closer to the fair.
If you are unable to locate your organization on the map, it might be temporarily hidden due to an unpaid invoice. Please review your registration to ensure payment has been remitted. Questions, please contact Chance Radtke.
Collect Student Information
We offer the option to utilize the Handshake In-person Booth Check-in system. Here's how it works:
Step 1: Receive Your Unique Handshake QR Code
- Each participating organization will receive a unique QR code for their booth. You do not need to print off your QR code ahead of time. We will have them for you at your table.
Step 2: Student Check-In
- When students approach your booth, invite them to scan your QR code to "check-in." It never hurts to double check that they've completed the process before they leave your booth.
Step 3: Post-Fair Benefits
- After the fair, students will receive a list of the employers they visited.
- Your designated representative for this fair will receive a list of the students who checked into your booth.
This streamlined process benefits both students and employers by providing valuable information about their fair connections. While not mandatory, we encourage you to utilize this new feature. If you have another way you prefer to capture student information, you are welcome to use it. We encourage students to print out their resumes to share with employers at the fair. If you cannot accept a paper resume or prefer not to, it is your responsibility to communicate that preference to our students.

Employer Lunch:
Day 1 (Feb. 18, East Campus):
Each participating representative will receive a lunch ticket for the East Campus Dining Center, located on the bottom floor of the East Union. Due to space limitations, career fair employers will be asked to use to-go containers to put their selections in. Then, employers will take their selections up to the Prairie Suite on the 3rd floor (space specifically reserved for career fair employers). Eating utensils and napkins will be located in the Prairie Suite.
Days 2-4 (Feb 19-21, City Campus):
Each participating representative will receive a lunch ticket to eat at one of our Nebraska Union vendors (Subway, Imperial Palace, Valentino’s, Steak & Shake, and Chick-fil-A). If you choose not to eat in the Union, downtown restaurants are within walking distance. Lunch tickets are not valid at off-campus restaurants or Starbucks in the Union.
Employer Lounge:
For all career fair days, we will have space reserved that is solely for employers. This space will include snacks, water, and tables for you to take a break and take care of whatever you may need, even if that's just personal time for yourself or a quiet space to take a phone call!
Day 1 (Feb. 18, East Campus): The Garden Room, located directly outside of the Career Fair space.
Days 2-4 (Feb 19-21, City Campus): Chimney Rock, exit the Ballroom and take a left down the hall.
Photography Policy
Photography is permitted at the career fair to capture positive moments, but attendees should be considerate of comfort levels, avoid actions increasing pressure on students during interactions with employers, and ensure open aisles for student movement due to the crowded space.
After the Fair
Post-Fair Pick-Up
If you would like to utilize the display pick-up service after the fair, there will be a slip provided in your employer packet for you to make that indication. Fair volunteers will help move your packaged items to the pick-up zone directly after the fair (same space as the unloading zone). This service will not start until after the fair concludes at 4 pm.
Shipping Booth Materials
Day 1 (Feb. 18, East Campus):
When the fair concludes, you'll take your packages to Room 331 in the Nebraska East Union (the floor above where the fair will be held). There will be stations for you to drop off your already-packed displays to be picked up at your scheduled time. While we are happy to hold your packages for you and provide an easy pick-up spot, it is your responsibility to call your shipping provider and schedule a pick-up of your belongings.
Days 2-4 (Feb 19-21, City Campus):
Once the fair concludes, you'll take your packages to the Career Services Office (Nebraska Union, room 225). There we will have stations for you to drop off your already-packed displays to be picked up at your scheduled time. Attending the Next Fair Day
Attending the next day:
Career Fair staff at the Help Desk (next to the Employer Check-in Station) will have access to the following day's map to help you double check your next day booth location. If you are staying in your same booth location the next day, you will be able to leave your display up in whatever capacity works best for you. If your booth is moving, please pack up and move your belongings to your new booth. You will be able to set it up that night or just leave it to set up for the morning.
