“I think all Career Coaches are here to help and see you succeed. Take advantage of that free opportunity,” said Kate Fraser.

Fraser, a UNL sophomore majoring in International Business with a specialization in Management and a minor in French participated in Career Services’ Micro-Internship program last semester.

Frasers’s micro-internship took place at BNB, a property management company. Kate stayed on and is still a Management intern with BNB presently!

“My favorite part of the internship was the people I worked with. It is a relatively small business; therefore, we have quite a close-knit team. It has given me a family here in Lincoln,” said Fraser.

Kate manages guest communications, analyzes property conversions, and helps the property management team coordinate property listings.

Throughout her internship, Fraser hasn’t stopped learning. Most important to her has been the development of her time management skills. She’s an incredibly hard worker, taking 18 credit hours while also balancing her time to participate in this internship.

Fraser utilized many of the Career Services resources to prepare for this opportunity and the future!

“This past semester, I took BSAD222, which had me placed with a Career Coach named Addison. She was one of the kindest people and helped me perfect my resume so that I was ready to apply for internships or full-time jobs,” said Fraser.

Outside of her studies and internship, Kate has played intermural volleyball, is a part of the Inclusive Business Leaders within the College of Business and is a member of the French Club!

“I would 100% recommend this micro-internship to other students! The team I work with has been absolutely incredible. The micro-internship opportunity through the university also takes into account that you are a student. You are only allowed to work a set number of hours a week so that you have time to focus on your studies as well,” said Fraser.
