“I highly recommend scheduling sessions with UNL’s career coaches as they excel in preparing individuals for career fairs and overall professional development. Additionally, taking advantage of resume labs helps tremendously,” said Abbie Cox.
Abbie, a freshman Agricultural Systems and Technology major with a minor in Ag Economics, has already begun her career journey. This summer, Abbie will be working as a Grain Merchandiser at Scoular’s Holderage facility. She’ll be buying, storing, handling, and selling grain. She found this opportunity through Handshake and used Career Services resources to prepare!
“I have found Career Services to be a valuable resource during my time at UNL. From participating in resume labs to meeting with career coaches and attending career fairs, I have benefited greatly from their support,” said Cox.
She is most looking forward to getting hands-on experience in her new internship to apply to her future career goals.
“After graduating with a degree in Agricultural Systems and Technology, accompanied by a minor in Ag Economics, I hope to apply my knowledge gained through the degree program to better position myself in a corporate role within an agricultural company. Whether it be in machinery, grain facilities, or other agricultural pursuit,” said Cox.
Outside of her studies, Abbie is a member of UNL’s American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and CASNR Coffee Club.
