Tyler Hurst is a senior double majoring in advertising and public relations and sports media and communication. Since his freshman year, Tyler has put his professional goals at the forefront of his college career. Now, his hard work and involvement has landed him a job with the Golden Knights as a Jr. Graphic Designer.
As a Jr. Graphic Designer, Tyler is in charge of creating digital and print-based graphics for the Vegas Golden Knights, the Henderson Silver Knights, the Vegas Knight Hawks and other Foley Entertainment Group businesses and properties.
“I am most excited to work for a professional sports team based in a distinctive city with an unparalleled brand,” said Tyler.
When it comes to receiving career advice and guidance, Tyler credits Career Services as being a very helpful steppingstone in his journey.
“I requested to meet with Career Services to get some review and advice with my resume,” said Tyler. “The Job & Internship Search guide was very helpful to me, especially when it came to referencing how to build out a successful cover letter, as well as other general professional tips.”
Tyler has already begun his new job, working remotely until he relocates to Las Vegas in June. With his future aspirations of becoming a creative director within professional sports, this new opportunity will provide Tyler with the right tools and foundation.
Throughout his time at UNL, Tyler was an ambassador for the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, participated in the Media Smarts first-year learning community, served as a Dean's Office Associate, served in a leadership role for the Sports Media Club and was involved with intramural flag football.
