Career Fairs at UNL

Attending Our Fairs

Communication

We send one month, one week and one day reminders about day-of career fair details to all registered representatives. These come through Handshake. To make sure the right people are receiving these emails, follow these steps:

  1. Add handshake@mail.joinhandshake.com to your safe senders list.
  2. When you register for a career fair, add representatives to your registration.
    1. Registering for a Career Fair
    2. How to View/Edit a Career Fair Registration
    3. Adding a Representative to an Existing Career Fair Registration
  3. You can edit who is attending on behalf of your organization until the registration period closes.

Registration

The date registration opens will be announced on our website and through email. All confirmed details on upcoming career fair seasons will be publicized on our website.

  • Husker Circle members receive early bird registration to all career fairs, guaranteeing our most invested employers a spot at the fairs.
  • Registration is through Handshake about 2 months prior to the fair date.
    • Registration for our fall career fairs usually opens up sooner (in mid-June).
    • We recommend setting up your account prior to registering. If you have questions on how to use Handshake, contact our office.
  • Waitlists are available once we sell out, but employers rarely cancel, which means it is not likely a spot will open up.

Unless otherwise noted, your registration fee includes the following:

Day-Of Logistics

Please always refer to the pre-fair emails you receive prior to a specific career fair. This information is subject to change with each career fair season, but is a general overview of what it typically looks like to attend a career fair on UNL's campus.

Unloading Zone

We know that carrying your booth materials across downtown Lincoln/campus is inconvenient and often inaccessible. To assist, we typically offer an unloading zone. Use of this service is completely optional--you are always able to carry your own booth materials from your parking location if you find that to be easier and more convenient.

  1. Drive up to the designated unloading zone area, and stay in your vehicle until our volunteers give you instructions. For safety reasons, we only unload the front two cars at a time.
  2. Drop off booth materials (and passengers, if applicable). Once the driver returns from parking, your materials will be waiting at your booth for you, thanks to our friendly volunteers (or your passengers).
  3. Drive to the designated parking area and walk to the career fair building (usually the Union on City or East Campus).
