Walk-ins and Appointments

Career advising is free to enrolled UNL students. Alumni of UNL may also meet with a career advisor initially for no charge. On-going appointments may be subject to fee.

Walk-ins

Visit with our staff in brief, no appointment needed meetings perfect for resume or cover letter reviews, getting to know Handshake, or other quick questions.

Fall and Spring Semester Hours:
Monday-Friday, 10 am - 4 pm

Summer Hours:
Monday-Friday, 10 am-12 noon; 1 pm - 3 pm

Peer Career Guide Booths

Meet with a Peer Career Guide through Walk-Ins (above) or at one of their campus booth locations listed here for resume and cover letter reviews, an introduction to Handshake, or help with a part-time job search:

Schedule an appointment with an hour to meet with a Career Advisor to discuss any career related questions:

  • Call our reception desk at (402) 472-3145 OR
  • Schedule appointment on-line through MyPLAN
    1. Log-in to Canvas
    2. Select the MyPLAN tab at the top
    3. Click the "Success Network" and search for Career Services
    4. Schedule by day/time or scroll down to view specific staff members and their available times.

Parking

There are 2 metered lots close to the Nebraska Union:

  • 14th & R Street - Southwest and across the street from the Nebraska Union
  • 15th & S Street - East of the Gaughan Center (which is connected to the Nebraska Union)

Employers: obtain a parking permit in room 225 when you arrive. You may want to plug the meter for a few minutes. Parking is first-come, first-served and there are other nearby city parking garages if no meters are available.
