Why do you want to get involved with Pride in the Workplace?

I have a huge passion for supporting and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community so any chance I can help young queer students succeed and share opportunities with them I will.

Session 2: Interviewing 3:35pm to 3:50pm

As an individual and as an LGBTQA+ candidate, you can bring unique assets and strengths to your career and the workplace. Learn how you can leverage an interview to learn more about the organization’s culture and their commitment to providing an inclusive work environment where all belong. Interviews provide you with the tools to determine if the company celebrates your identity and is supportive of the LGBTQA+ community.

Why do you want to get involved with Pride in the Workplace?

For a long time, I was in a place where I hid who I was to keep comfortable in my department. I realized that comfortable feeling was for others and I was still uncomfortable. I finally realized that comfort in the workplace can only be achieved if you are comfortable being who you are.

Session 4: Networking Tips 4:15pm to 4:30pm

Evidence indicates that networking contributes to your social well-being. Networking also leads to the exchange of ideas and helps you meet people at all professional levels. However, networking can also be an exciting, awkward, or anxious experience. In this session, you’ll learn practical tips to successfully navigate the networking scene.

Why do you want to get involved with Pride in the Workplace?

My sexual identity is the identity that helped me build my community when I moved to Nebraska. Being able to be a friendly face for students to lean on as they achieve their goals and learn they have power to be themselves in the workplace is lifegiving.
