Melvin Jones Scholars

The Melvin Jones Scholars is a learning community that promotes academics, leadership, and community. The community is designed to develop and retain a diverse student body at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. The object of MJS shall be to provide members in opportunity to network, offer continued academic support, provide social opportunities, and formally interact with current Jones Scholars and Jones Scholar Alumni (JSA). As a member of MJS, participants will 1) know other students in your classes and extracurricular activities, making it easier to get to know students with similar interests, 2) have opportunities to explore your interests with faculty and staff, 3) attend a variety of career related events, 4) will have opportunities to work with community leaders, and 5) enjoy a lunch/dinner with the Chancellor.
