Camp Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. A program of Kesem, Camp Kesem operates over 100 free summer camps across the country for children ages 6 to 18 who have been affected by a parent’s cancer. This camping experience has a lasting impact on children by providing them a peer-support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence and strengthens their communication skills. In 2019, Camp Kesem served over 10,000 children coast-to-coast – all funded by generous donations from individuals and corporate support. Camp Kesem at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln was founded in 2012 and supports children in the mid-west community by providing a week-long summer camp experience and year-long support. Camp Kesem at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is operated by student volunteers and serves over 150 campers ages 6-18. We are always looking for new general body members, committee members, and perspective counselors.
