Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is the professional association for landscape architects in the United States, representing more than 15,000 members. Landscape architects lead the planning, design, and stewardship of healthy, equitable, safe, and resilient environments.
The purpose of the UNL Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is to promote interest in the profession of landscape architecture and to bring together design enthusiasts and nature enthusiasts on campus. We provide social and academic support for students of any major that join UNL ASLA.
Landscape architecture involves the planning, design, management, and nurturing of the built and natural environments. With their unique skill set, landscape architects work to improve human and environmental health in all communities. They plan and design parks, campuses, streetscapes, trails, plazas, residences, and other projects that strengthen communities.
The purpose of the Society shall be the advancement of knowledge, education, and skill in the art and science of landscape architecture as an instrument of service in the public welfare. To this end, the Society shall promote the profession of landscape architecture and advance the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.
