The Graphic Artist will create visual and motion based design assets for client commercials and station branding projects. Design 2D and 3D graphics for multiple media, including television, digital, social, and print applications. Will produce graphics for on-air newscasts and design assets for other producer/editors in the Creative Services department. Will also conceptualize, design, and edit complete commercials and branding projects. Will manage station graphics package and visual branding guidelines.

The Graphic Artist will work with Marketing director, create and maintain a consistent, effective visual brand for station, news content presentation, and marketing applications. Create visual and motion based graphics for a variety of projects, including station branding and client commercials. Will work with sales staff and meet with clients to create visual branding solutions to help meet clients’ marketing needs. The Graphic Artist will design graphics for a variety of digital and mobile applications, create graphics for print ads, event signage, and various collateral. The qualified applicant will record video and shoot photos, edit videos for multiple platforms and write marketing and advertising copy for scripts and social media posts. Will assist with software decisions regarding graphic systems, and other computers within Creative Services, use CMS to post web graphics and create web content. Keep current on the latest industry standards and equipment. Maintain archive library of all graphics and animation produced. Organize system that will allow quick access for others.

We prefer a candidate with a College degree or equivalent job experience in computer art/graphic design, 1-2 years’ experience. Advanced design, motion graphics creation, and video editing and compositing skills. Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and related 2D or 3D graphics and editing software and plugins. Knowledge of VIZRT graphic software, or ability to learn. Strong understanding of visual marketing and advertising philosophy and techniques. Videography, photography, and lighting skills. Must have operating knowledge of PC’s and graphics computers. Ability to perform tasks associated with basic office duties, good organizational filing skills. Excellent interpersonal communication. Valid driver’s license and good driving record, must be able to transport oneself to client meetings, and on-location shoots.
