Provide support to ENREC farm operations including equipment repair and maintenance, disking, field cultivation, planting, cultivation, chisel plowing, deep tillage, irrigation, road maintenance, mowing and soil sampling. Collect or assist with collecting research data and create and maintain records. Serve as one of the primary batwing mower operators. Follow research protocols. Other duties as assigned. Work in inclement weather required.This position is near Mead, NE. ENREC Farm Operations provides research services to all IANR academic departments. The Farm is a 2,800 row crop operation using modern ag equipment and relies on precision ag technologies including RTK tractor steering and yield monitoring. The Farm also provides custom spraying and haying operations for the university foundation seed and animal science departments.Preferred applicant will be pursuing agriculture or related degree and have two years of heavy farm equipment experience required; equivalency considered. Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance experience a plus. Computer proficiency required. Must be able to prioritize tasks. Ability to identify potential problems, make appropriate decisions and take corrective action required.
