The main role of this position will be to assist us in the collaborative planning of our annual Language Fair. Tasks would include communicating with staff and vendors to plan some logistics such as basic room reservations, ordering catering, making fliers, etc. When not working on tasks related to assisting us in planning our Language Fair, the student worker will help us with general office work such as watering plants, scanning materials, delivering items on campus, recycling and general cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with diverse communities. We are seeking an independent worker who can take the initiative to assess the needs of the office and find ways to assist with those needs. In free time, student workers are allowed and encouraged to complete homework and class assignments. We will prioritize applicants who are DMLL students and/or who are interested in event planning/hospitality endeavors.

This opportunity is for AY 21-22 with the potential to be extended.
Please provide your resume, a brief cover letter explaining any experience you have in organization and/or event planning, your proposed weekly work schedule for the semester, and the amount allotted to you for Work Study.
