Job Description:

Looking for dependable, compassionate direct support professionals to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Omaha. We are hiring for all shifts and pay higher wages for experience and CNA certification. Please note that this pay range applies to weekday, evening, and weekend shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide services to address the wants and needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which may include:

– Supporting personal goals

– Administering medications

– Planning and preparing meals

· Assisting with activities of daily living

– Transporting to and from day program and community outings

– Reinforcing therapies, including speech, behavioral support, and physical therapy

– Ensuring all needs are addressed in a respectful manner with dignity and personal choice

– Completing and maintaining required documentation on a web-based system

Qualifications:

– Valid driver’s license

– Current automobile insurance

– Ability to pass registry and background checks

– Ability to handle a variety of situations and personalities

– Must maintain confidentiality and protect individual rights

– Ability to project a caring and professional image at all times

– Proven skills in communication, observation, problem solving, and time management

– Prefer one year of experience in intellectual/developmental disabilities or caring for a person in a healthcare setting
