The Human Resource Intern will gain experience in the day-to-day functions of Human Resources and will also have the opportunity to work on special projects with Department Managers. The Intern will be exposed to a very diverse and dynamic company and will be encouraged to help define better ways of maintaining and distributing human resource information.
Specific tasks might include: processing applications and sending correspondence, posting job descriptions and creating a recruiting history, conducting telephone interviews, interacting with potential employees regarding their application, updating human resource information and files, sending reference checks, completing paperwork for new hires, transfers, and separated employees, processing employee flexible spending account claims, completing paperwork for health, dental, and disability insurance, and responding to requests for information and clarification regarding company benefits, building new forms/documents for individual managers such as task proficiency lists and keeping current on labor laws. High attention to detail is a must. Assume other duties as assigned.
