Hands-on farming experiences are available with this internship! Our crop production team works hard year-round to provide high-quality feed for our dairy and beef animals. Cattle are fed corn silage, haylage and other feedstuffs as part of a balanced ration. Rotational crops like soybeans, wheat and edible beans help keep the soil healthy. Where the soil is sandy or very light, we use pivot irrigation systems to sustain the crops.
Internship Crop Production Rotations Include: Field Scouting, Haylage, Irrigation Systems, Spraying
Past Intern Hands-On Experiences: Assessing Crop Damage, Drip Tape Irrigation, Equipment Operation, Haylage Harvest, Planting Millet/Sorghum/Soybeans, Servicing Equipment, Silage Mapping, Soil Sampling
Locations: Morris, Minnesota and Atkinson, Nebraska and Willcox, Arizona
June 1, 2021 – August 6, 2021
We offer paid, hands-on internships in Arizona, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, and South Dakota. Interns rotate through different teams within their systems throughout the summer. In addition to working in your internship area, we bring the entire group of interns (20+) together several times throughout the summer for field trips (dairy farm, beef feedlot, calf ranch, construction site), meetings with different managers of our teams (finance, trucking, Q&A with CEO, etc.), labs (repro, euthanasia, necropsy), and our company picnic. Interns also have weekly check-ins to make sure goals and expectations are being met.
To be considered: submit application, cover letter, and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org or apply online by October 31, 2020.
