The Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s Media & Public Relations Division has a temporary, full-time job opening for a Public Information Officer.This person will perform public relations responsibilities, independent research, responding to external and internal requests and assisting with publication production. This person will produce and write a variety of pieces such as traffic advisories, press releases, articles, talking points and topic summaries. This includes producing social media content and website maintenance.Strong writing, customer service and problem-solving skills are required along with high level of professionalism and organizational skills.Preference will be given to an applicant who possesses a strong creative vision and ability to develop visually appealing presentations and other materials.Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software for the PC and graphic/video production are a plus. Those with a background or focus of study in media, public relations or communications areas preferred.Salary is $15-$18 per hour.This will be a condensed application process with virtual interviews.
