Grimm Bissell Wealth Management & Insurance Services
Our firm is one of the largest practices within Northwestern Mutual. We are proud to manage over $750 million in client assets and work with some of Southern California’s most successful and influential families and businesses. We provide comprehensive financial planning and wealth management, requiring a high level of intellectual capital and an unwavering commitment to the clients who have trusted us.
The firm’s internship program is an important component of our ability to provide exceptional service to our clients and to develop the next generation of talented individuals that will join our organization. Interns join our firm as paid planning analysts, are fully integrated into our workflow, and expected to quickly take ownership of their professional development.
The responsibilities owned by our planning analysts can be an extensive list, but some of the consistent ones include:
· Running and reviewing reports prior to client reviews
· Administrative support which can include maintaining office supplies, coordinating small events
· Monitoring client portfolios to evaluate asset class drift, ineligible securities, cash levels
· Inputting trade tickets at the direction of licensed team members
· Assisting with investment operations including account opening and maintenance
· File management including e-filing and documenting in client files
During the internship period, we provide resources for you to learn the fundamentals of financial planning, wealth management and important skills necessary for working with a high performing team. This is not a remote internship. Must be able to work in Irvine.
What We Look For
We do not hire based on a specific academic background or coursework. We are looking for exceptionally organized and detail-oriented candidates with an interest in financial planning and wealth management as a potential career. We prefer candidates who have had some working experience, especially in a service-oriented field (retail, restaurants, hospitality, etc…). Because of the level of training and time we invest in our planning analysts, we ask for candidates who are looking for a part-time position to last 18-24 months. We look for our planning analysts to commit to 20 hours per week.
How to Apply
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age or status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law.
