Post-doctoral Fellowship in Molecular Virology & Microbiology (Infectious Diseases)
We have one slot available for a post-doctoral fellow at NRL (Washington, DC) to begin in October 2021-October 2023. The 2-year fellowship can be extended to 3-years if needed. The post-doc will focus on one of the following: (1) SSHHPS/nsP – a post-translational silencing mechanism akin to CRISPR/Cas, (2) Engineered capsule depolymerases for treatment of drug-resistant pathogens, (3) Chemical defense – Host enzymes inhibited by nerve agents and pesticides.

Experience in enzyme kinetics, protein purification, structural biology, protein engineering, biopython, machine learning, or bioinformatics is desired. BSL3 laboratory experience is also available during this fellowship through a collaboration at George Mason University (Manassas, VA). US citizenship is required. This position is located on a US Navy base.
