The Landscaping Crew Leader will perform and oversee a variety of landscape activities for Medxcel throughout the assigned working location of Via Christi – St. Francis – Wichita, KS. The landscaping activities will include: planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, and seasonal lawn preparation. The Landscaping Technician II may also operate lawn mowers and related equipment and will assist Facilities Maintenance staff on projects as assigned. Landscaping Technician II performs a variety of landscape activities, such as irrigation system maintenance and service, planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, and seasonal lawn preparation. The Landscaping Technician II leads training for new associates and serves as a Subject Matter expert to facilities stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Landscaping:Oversees team members and performs planting and related activitiesPerforms routine lawn maintenance including grass cutting, lawn edging, weed pulling, and other routine lawn-maintenance activitiesUses lawn mower and related equipmentProvides seasonal lawn care, such as spring and fall clean-upMoves materials and equipment and performs related duties to assist in landscaping and hardscapingDigs holes and trenches and excavates for landscaping and hardscaping using picks and shovels or related equipmentHauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials using wheelbarrows and rakesHand-finishes grade, and apply seed, straw, or sodMaintains assigned equipment and notifies Landscaping Supervisor of needed repairsResponds politely to customer inquiries and projects a professional imageLoads equipment and materials on and off trucks and trailersPerforms snow removal activities as assigned, such as shoveling, salting, etc.Assist Facilities Maintenance staff on preventive maintenance, work orders, painting and other maintenance projects as assignedChemical Treatments:Applies chemicals under the direction of a licensed chemical applicatorSpecial Projects:Assist and participate in special projects as assignedQualificationsEducation:High school diploma or GED requiredValid State Driver’s License and insurable with company’s agent preferredExperience:A minimum of three (3) years of experience in landscaping or horticultural work requiredPrevious experience in a health care setting preferredCompetencies:Ability to train new associates and educate them on processes, systems and equipmentHave a working knowledge of standard horticultural practicesMust be able to read and write in English languageReports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by the Landscaping leader and local Facilities LeaderAbility to operate a truck and trailer combination proficiently
