Dedicated Tutors & Mentors Needed
in Palm Beach County, Florida!
Literacy AmeriCorps Palm Beach County recruits part-time members to serve in a broad range of programs. Opportunities include serving as graduation coaches in local high schools with at-risk youth, tutoring children who are behind grade level reading in elementary schools, teaching adults in family literacy and English education programs and many more.
A part-time Literacy AmeriCorps member can expect to serve at least 20 per week at a school, youth program, family literacy center, library, or community agency as tutors and mentors. Similar to full-time programs, some operate during afternoon and evening hours and others operate during a traditional school schedule.
Part-time members can participate in weekly community service projects; however, attendance is not mandatory.*
Members are eligible for an education award of up to $2417.14 upon completion of their service year. The stipend (living allowance) and other member benefits vary depending on the total hours committed to serving.
