SUMMARY:

Provide individual and group focused health coaching with Lincoln Industries people to support healthy lifestyles in fitness, nutrition, sleep and overall wellbeing. Supports the planning, implementation and coordination of health and wellness programs.

WAGE TYPE: Unpaid, Educational

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

All interns must complete a minimum of 120 hours, 10-20 hours per week

· Wellness Coaching, Encouragement and Outreach, 50%.

o Assist in wellness goal setting and accountability with interested clients.

o Provide exercise, nutrition and wellbeing support for clients.

o Provide health and wellness resources as needed.

o Perform fitness testing for people of all fitness levels.

o Carry out evaluation plans and interpret results of program evaluation.

· Special projects and administrative support,40%

o Assist with wellness event/challenge programming.

o Complete functions of daily corporate wellness as assigned

o Assist with tasks in preparation for annual health screens & clinics, wellness fairs, annual platinum mountain climb, etc.

o Learn Lincoln Industries benefits and incentives programs.

o Assist in processing quarterly wellness reimbursements.

o Communicate wellbeing initiatives to employees in person, in writing and any other means of effective outreach.

o Support operation of on-site fitness center including potential for coaching / teaching group classes.

o Complete other projects as assigned by university sponsored faculty.

· Education and shadowing, 10%

o Attend People Resources, wellness committee and benefits committee meetings.

o Complete any required trainings.

· Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.

· Environmental responsibility is our commitment to our communities.

· Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.

· Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries’ Beliefs and Drivers.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

· Reports to: Manager, Wellness

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

· Junior, senior or post-graduate, student studying exercise science, nutrition, health promotion, community health, physical education, or like studies with a strong interest in corporate health and wellness.

· Currently enrolled in school.

Communication Skills:

· Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.

· Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization

Other Skills:

· Thorough understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel.

· Must be highly organized and able to conduct multiple tasks concurrently.

· Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
