JOB TITLE: Food ServerREPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Manager / MODDEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Ala Carte / EventsBASIC FUNCTION: To serve all food and beverage effectively in accordance with Happy Hollow Club policies, procedures, and standards. To promote complete member and guest satisfaction by using all aspects of the Happy Hollow Club Service Standards.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):1. Department Standards – Observe all departmental rules and regulations, dress code/appearance, behave in a professional manner, and demonstrate a friendly and caring attitude towards co-workers and all other Happy Hollow Club staff. Demonstrate teamwork responsiveness when asked to do any task consistent with Happy Hollow Club policies.2. Happy Hollow Club Service Standards:RECOGNITION – Address members, guests, and co-workers by name. Whenever possible, welcome back returning members and guests and thank them.FRIENDLY SERVICE – Greet all members, guests, and co-workers with a warm, friendly smile. Use every opportunity to initiate member, guest, and co-worker contact by making eye contact, smiling, saying “good morning,” etc.PROFESSIONAL SERVICE – Handle all members and guests requests, inquiries, and concerns as a professional. Take the appropriate action to deal with those needs and resolve the issues always with the members and guests’ needs at heart.RESPONSIVENESS – The needs of our members and guests will always come first. Ensure that we anticipate those needs before the member or guest has to ask, and respond promptly to ensure their satisfaction.REWARDS – Sincerely thank each member and guest for their business and invite them to return.3. Greeting – All members and guests must be immediately recognized with a warm and friendly acknowledgement. In the absence of the greeter, promptly escort members and guests to the appropriate table in accordance with Happy Hollow Club procedures.4. Setting Tables – Follow all Happy Hollow Club procedures. Ensure all required table items are properly placed. Complete a visual inspection to verify a professional presentation to newly arriving members and guests.5. Using a Tray – A tray will be used while performing all food and beverage service. Follow all Happy Hollow Club procedures for professional and correct use of a tray. Complete breakdown of dishes should be accomplished in accordance with department standards.6. Basic Service Guidelines – All table service will be conducted in a friendly, responsive, and professional manner. All food and beverage items will be presented using proper service etiquette at all times. Happy Hollow Club policies and procedures will be utilized as training guidelines for food presentation.7. Minimum Service Standards – Communicate with Kitchen staff and management to ensure quality products and timeliness while following professional service standards and focusing on details.8. Clearing Tables – Follow Happy Hollow Club procedures in the timely and professional removal of all service items from the table. All table encounters will be friendly, yet discreet and sensitive to the members and guests’ needs.9. Suggestive Selling – Maximize revenues and profitability through recommendations and up-selling techniques. Staff members will observe members and guests’ cues to assist in recommendations and selection.10. Hospitality Skills – Through individual effort and teamwork, staff members will ensure all members and guests needs, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness. We will ensure members and guests’ complete satisfaction and repeat business.11. Check and Billing Procedures – Adhere to Happy Hollow Clubs accounting policies and procedures as they relate to food and beverage. Individual departmental policies and procedures will also be maintained.12. Side Work – Complete all assigned side work during scheduled shift in a manner which will pass inspection. Happy Hollow Club procedures regarding general sanitation will be followed to ensure strict compliance with local Department of Health regulations.13. Safety and Security – Observe safe work habits as outlined in Happy Hollow Club policies and procedures. Must wear required safety gear as mandated by the job. Strictly adhere to all Club security policies and promptly report suspicious behavior, unusual items, or activities.
