The Business Development Representative (BDR) at FTNI will focus nearly exclusively on lead generation, qualification and client acquisition. This fast-paced, entry-level position will combine business development efforts including calling/emailing new prospective clients, working with partner referrals, and qualifying leads generated from online content.
The BDR will develop valuable relationships and educate prospective clients to the broad spectrum of FTNI’s ETran Integrated Receivables solutions. FTNI BDRs work closely with prospective clients to identify solutions for their unique receivables processing needs and consult through the initial sales qualification process. Ideal candidates are highly-motivated, able to effectively communicate across both verbal and written channels, and driven to create highly-qualified leads that will result in closed sales, increased revenue, and long-term customer relationships.
Business Development Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and execute cohesive outbound calling and emailing efforts to generate awareness among prospects
- Understand client needs and present tailored solutions and support throughout and beyond the initial sales cycle
- Research potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources
- Qualify leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc.
- Create and maintain a database of prospective clients
- Present and deliver information to potential clients
- Successfully address business, operational and/or technical questions from potential clients
- Work closely with Sales Director to initially qualify new prospective clients
- Support FTNI’s presence at industry trade events across the U.S. as needed
- Track weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
Business Development Requirements and Qualifications
- Comfortable making cold calls/emails and communicating effectively with business executives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and provide valuable interactions with potential clients
- Persuasive and goal-oriented
- Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and genuine demeanor in written and verbal communications
- Eager to help expand FTNI’s fast-growing customer base with new sales, clients, and territories/industries
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- In-depth understanding of FTNI’s solutions and services, and its position in the industry
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude when reaching out to your next potential client
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Previous inside sales experience, or related sales experience preferred (but not required)
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) experience a plus
