We support discovery science experiments in Illinois and South Dakota and at locations around the world, including Canada, mountaintops in Arizona and Chile, and the South Pole.Fermilab’s Finance Organization seeks Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Administrator to assist the newly formed Systems and Analytics Group. This Group, with support from IT, is responsible for the daily operations of Fermilab’s business systems and for interpersonal reporting and metrics. Under limited supervision, the EBS Administrator will maintain Fermilab’s primary financial/accounting system, including General Ledger and Project Accounting; crafts and maintains projects, tasks, and other fields required to accurately capture accounting transactions and to fulfill internal and external reporting requirements.You willWork closely with IT and acts as a subject matter expert for Oracle EBS, including the collaborate with sub-ledgers and other applications.Set up, test, and verify the accuracy of indirect cost burdening, to follow Fermilab’s federal Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) disclosure statement.Manage all Oracle metadata setups: creation of, or changes to, projects, tasks, organization structures, accounts, expenditure types, service types, and other fields.Responsible for cyclical tasks and duties, such as interface balancing, weekly timecard distribution, HR software interface, month-end accruals, month- and year-end closes, mass allocations, and the year-end overhead variance redistribution processes.Collaborate with EBS users and other partners to ensure that EBS is configured to be compliant and to support the mission of Fermilab.Coordinate testing of Oracle EBS upgrades and enhancements. Approves the progression from testing to production and is responsible for final acceptance.Receive and resolve non-technical, business process-related problem tickets for EBS.We are looking for:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Information Systems. Master’s degree or accounting-related professional certification, such as CPA or CMA, is helpful.5+ years of combined substantial experience with Oracle EBS, including Project Accounting, General Ledger, and sophisticated Indirect Cost structures.Good interpersonal, verbal, written and analytic skills.Ability to be attentive and proactive to the needs and requests of internal customers and peers.Capacity to work independently, stay organized, and prioritize tasks. Advanced Excel skills.Experience in the federal government sector, such as the Department of Energy or the Department of Defense, preferredKnowledge of Federal Cost Accounting Standards. Experience with accounting report tools, such as Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), a plus.Experience with EBS integrations to/from other systems.
