Job Summary: The Facilities Management Director is responsible for all functions of the department. Requires a sound knowledge of Plant Services, Construction, Transportation, and Safety. The Facilities Management Director will have demonstrable skills in leadership, management, interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and problem solving. The functions of the Facilities Management Director include: financial management of the department including budget development and ongoing evaluation; management of human resources; responsibilities and duties as a member of a multi-disciplinary team; leadership as a mentor for staff members; strategic planning; day to day operations; procurement and maintenance of supplies and equipment, including purchasing capital equipment; contract maintenance; maintaining and developing hospital policies and procedures; identifying and implementing performance improvement initiatives and evaluation effectiveness; maintain departmental regulatory compliance; developing and implementing a patient/customer focused staffing plan. The Facilities Management Director participates in, or delegates appropriate participation in all performance improvement teams, medical staff committees and work teams.
Ability to multi-task and maintain composure and a high level of responsiveness and at times in stressful situations or environments. Demonstrates a proven track record within the organization through system wide improvement thinking with an ability to manage multiple departments. Demonstrates the ability to cultivate positive internal and external working relationships to encourage collaboration. Proven ability to effectively present information to various audiences that may include Administration, the Board, Medical Staff and the community.
