Research Assistant in the Envision Research Institute
We have an immediate opening for a full-time research assistant to work with Dr. Ying-Zi Xiong in the Envision Research Institute.
About the project
The research project focuses on the orientation and mobility of individuals with sensory impairment. Supported by the Envision Research Institute and the Envision Low Vision Rehabilitation Center, this multi-disciplinary project combines scientific research with the rehabilitation needs of individuals with sensory impairment.
The major responsibilities of the research assistant will be recruiting, scheduling, and testing subjects according to the established experimental protocols. The research assistant will receive training in analyzing behavioral data and writing up concise and meaningful summaries / presentations.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly-motivated research assistant candidate with a minimum of a bachelor degree in vision science, psychology, engineering, optometry or other rehabilitation related disciplines. The qualified candidate should have good problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills. The ability to work with elderly participants is essential. Proficiency in office tools is necessary. Experiences with human subject research or vision rehabilitation would be advantageous. Programming skills would be a plus.

This position is for 12 months and is open immediately. Hours are negotiable between 50% part time and full time.
