Major responsibilities include:
- Support the advancement of Enko novel chemistries through the discovery and development staging system
- Implementation of robust assays for characterization of candidate chemistries on model and agronomically important weed species
- Develop and validate new or improved control environment weeds and plants protocols to assess candidate chemistry herbicidal efficacy and specific molecule attributes
- Collaborate with a diverse team of scientists to identify and validate targets and optimize lead chemistries creating a pipeline of product candidates; schedule space, manage inventories of research supplies, culture crops and weeds, establish experiments, applying experimental treatments, conducting assessments, performing preliminary results summaries, and providing regular updates
- Collaborate with external partners to conduct advanced characterization of candidate molecules
- Involved in the establishment and maintenance of:
- Field research plots from planting to harvest
- Sample collection and processing
- Herbicide/pesticide/fungicide spray operations
- Greenhouse/laboratory experiments
- Chemical/supplies inventory, purchasing
- Field data collection and data management
