Do you love working with kids, playing outrageous games, making lifelong friends and getting paid to do it? Then consider joining the Camp La Junta family! We employ enthusiastic, giving, college-age individuals who enjoy working outdoors and investing their time in young campers.
Camp La Junta is a private, traditional, recreational, overnight camp for boys situated on 250 acres of scenic Texas Hill Country, alongside a mile of the crystal clear, spring fed Guadalupe River. Enrollment is limited to around 250 boys per session, aged 6-15. Camp counselors live on-site all summer long, in a cabin group of campers, plus teach a specific activity. Most importantly, our counselor’s overall goal is to see that every boy leaves camp with a feeling of accomplishment, pride, confidence, independence, security and fun. Camp La Junta is looking for outstanding role models to work with our campers throughout the summer. Our counselors are responsible for the supervision of a cabin and activity- planning for a group of 10 campers. We are looking for counselors who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of youth by helping campers develop strong relationships, a sense of achievement, and a feeling of belonging.
We hire male and female counselors for all summer (both 1st and 2nd terms) or for a singe term each summer. Each term begins with staff training. So, even if you’re new to working with kids or don’t have a ton of leadership experience under your belt, as long as you’re motivated to learn and make an impact, we’ll get you up to speed before the campers arrive.
All Summer: June 6th – July 31st
1st Term: June 6th – July 1st
2nd Term: July 6th – July 31st
