Summary
Manage the details and administrative processes within our Health Center. Work well with different medical professionals and bring consistency throughout our health care program as staff changes weekly. To uphold the mission of Cho-Yeh in word and action.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide an environment of safety, caring and encouragement for all campers.
- Communicate with Medical Staff, Supers and Full Time Staff about campers and counselors.
- Provide support and accountability for the different Medical Staff who change each week..
- Manage the Health Center accordance with Cho-Yeh policies and procedures.
- Manage administrative details within CampMinder, including but not limited to:
- Medical logs
- OTC restrictions
- Health History review
- Charting all visits to Health Center
- Help perform small tasks around Health Center, including but not limited to:
- Make ice packs
- Wash sheets
- Make beds
- Inventory meds we provide, and make shopping lists to restock as needed
- Keep Health Center well organized.
- Manage Incident Forms as pertains to Health Center
- Create and implement a system to follow up with campers who are seriously injured.
- Drive staff and campers to off-site medical care as needed (preferred 21 or over to drive camp vehicles)
- Perform other duties as assigned or reassigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed 1 year of nursing school or similar experience.
- Must be able to supervise children on a twenty-four hour, seven days a week basis with limited time off.
- Must be able to negotiate hilly terrain, rustic trails, and walk several miles per day.
- Must possess the stamina to carry out camp programs in hot and humid East Texas climate over an extended period of time.
- Must possess visual and auditory abilities to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp activity.
- Must demonstrate strong moral and Christian values and set an example of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily basis.
- Must possess the ability to communicate and work with groups of all ages and skill levels in order to provide necessary care to campers and counselors.
- Must be able to observe camper behavior, evaluate its appropriateness, and enforce and implement appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Must maintain a positive attitude and provide a positive environment for campers.
- Strong awareness and commitment to preventing, detecting, and responding to physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.
