Fall 2022 Civil Engineer Co-op Positions

The Co-op Program in Civil Engineering at American Bridge provides challenging and rewarding work opportunities for college students majoring in Civil Engineering. This is an opportunity to join one of industry leading Bridge and Marine Construction Companies and work on some of the world’s most complex and marquee civil engineering projects that include the Tappan Zee Bridge, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge and Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

As a Co-op Student with American Bridge you will be given the opportunity to apply your academic training and skills in a real-world setting at any number of project locations in the United States, Caribbean and Canada. In addition, you will assist or Engineering, Estimating and Operations staff in the application of principles, means & methods, and techniques of engineering technology by performing any combination of the following duties at our corporate headquarters, regional offices and project job sites.

Under the direction of an experienced engineers, you will perform a variety of engineering support assignments for bridge and marine construction projects requiring the application of civil engineering knowledge and CAD drafting skills. Assignments include supporting the preparation of engineering reports, preparing engineering computations, performing inspections as part of a team, preparing construction cost estimates, project cost code knowledge, and overall construction scheduling. This position will be either based out of our Corporate office located in Coraopolis, PA, at one of our regional offices, or at a project job site location.

Requirements

• Incumbent must be enrolled in a Civil Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of studies in the Civil Engineering discipline.

• Candidates must have experience with PC’s and knowledge of CAD Software and interpreting design drawings.
