Fall 2021 Civil Engineer Co-op Positions

August 2021 until December 2021

The Co-op Program in Civil Engineering at American Bridge provides challenging and rewarding work opportunities for college students majoring in Civil Engineering. This is an opportunity to join one of industry leading Bridge and Marine Construction Companies and work on some of the world’s most complex and marquee civil engineering projects that include the Tappan Zee Bridge, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge and Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

As a Co-op Student with American Bridge you will be given the opportunity to apply your academic training and skills in a real-world setting at any number of project locations in the United States, Caribbean and Canada. In addition, you will assist or Engineering, Estimating and Operations staff in the application of principles, means & methods, and techniques of engineering technology by performing any combination of the following duties at our corporate headquarters and project job sites. We offer three different rotations in our Engineering, Estimating and Operations departments.

Under the direction of an experienced engineers, you will perform a variety of engineering support assignments for bridge and marine construction projects requiring the application of civil engineering knowledge and CAD drafting skills. Assignments include supporting the preparation of engineering reports, preparing engineering computations, performing inspections as part of a team, preparing construction cost estimates, project cost code knowledge, and overall construction scheduling. These positions will either be based in our Corporate Headquarters located in Coraopolis, PA or at one of our project sites located in the United States.

Requirements

• Incumbent must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of studies in the Civil Engineering discipline.

• Candidates must have experience with PC’s and mid-level knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, BlueBeam and Revit Software

  • Must be able to read and interpret design drawings.
