Career Services is excited to help you with the next step in your story. As a new student, there are several action steps we recommend you take before or as you arrive at UNL:
STEP 1: Finish Enrolling For Classes
Your first step to becoming a Husker is attending New Student Enrollment (NSE), which is a two-part process, orientation and academic advising/course enrollment! Within a few days of completing the academic advising/course enrollment requirement, you will have access to all of your University resources, which includes Handshake!
STEP 2: Log In & Claim Your Handshake Account
Handshake is the place for students of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to engage with employers and search/apply for internships, co-ops, part/full-time jobs, work study, and campus employment. As a student, you are already granted a Handshake account. Once you’ve completed the step above and allow the University a few days to process your enrollment, you’ll just need to log-in with your My.UNL log-in to get access to thousands of job opportunities and employers all over the world!
STEP 3: Connect to Career Resources & Career Coaching
A Career Coach can assist with career exploration, part-time job searches on and off campus, resume support, and career development resources. You can also utilize a large selection of career development resources on the Career Services website.
STEP 4: Follow Career Services On Social
Get career development tips and stay up-to-date on career events by following the Career Services social accounts.
