The Soybean Breeding Program is a leading national program that conducts cutting-edge research in crop improvement and genetics. The program is internationally recognized and has a profound impact on agriculture in the states of the central-northern region of the USA.
The program is looking for motivated individuals who seek to gain professional experience in the field of agronomy. If you are passionate about molecular and fieldwork and want to be part of a team of agronomy experts, then this opportunity is for you! We will help you explore the relationship between molecules and whole plants.

Training, Mentoring, and Workplace Community: | The program is looking for motivated individuals who seek to deepen their professional experience in the field of agronomy. If you are passionate about field and molecular work and want to be part of a team of agronomy experts, then this opportunity is for you! Over the years, the breeding program has mentored a large number of undergraduate students coming from different disciplines and backgrounds. We have always been willing to work with any person interested in learning about breeding and genetics. We have vast experience in welcoming inexperienced undergraduate students who are looking to get a feeling for research work. Our lab works as a team of individuals and we all take part in the mentoring, training and professional development process. Many of the students that have worked in our lab have gone on to pursue advanced degrees in science and jobs in the private sector. We can proudly say that we did our best to teach our students the lab-related skills that cannot be learned in a classroom or lecture. We emphasize the “hands-on, minds-on” type of professional training. |
