The Winston Churchill Foundation operates the Churchill Scholarship, which sends the very best American graduates in science, math, and engineering, to Churchill College, Cambridge, for a one-year Master’s degree. Each year, the foundation awards 16 Churchill Scholarships and one Kanders Churchill Scholarship in Science Policy.

Consistently rated among the top universities in both national and international league tables, the University of Cambridge offers a world leading postgraduate education. With a global outlook and reach, the Cambridge mission is to contribute to society through the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest international levels of excellence.

For more information on the postgraduate application process at Cambridge see: https://www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk/.

Other Funding Opportunities for the United Kingdom

Consider the Fulbright U.S. Student Program Open Study/Research or university partnership awards for the United Kingdom. These two fellowship programs are similarly competitive and both looking to support student leaders with cross-cultural exchange opportunities. Fulbright will support one academic year of graduate study, though in a Fulbright application, your application will focus on only one British university.

Depending on your listing of your top choice graduate programs, you might also consider the Gates Cambridge Scholarship (for Cambridge University), the Marshall Scholarship (for any UK university), the Rhodes Scholarship (for Oxford University), and the Mitchell Scholarship (for Irish universities).
