An Introduction to the Community Learning Center at Campbell elementary
Generally, a Community Learning Center (CLC) provides high-quality academic and enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children. These programs offer a variety of activities that complement and amplify what they’re learning in school. CLC clubs help develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills as well as encourages community and parent engagement for the success of the children. We offer before school programming as well as after school programming that runs from 3:38 until 6pm.
What Would Your Role Look Like?
A vital part of programming is our clubs. Clubs run daily during the school week from 4-5pm. Clubs can look a lot of different ways, but we aim to make them either recreational, academic, social emotional, or civic learning oriented. Clubs typically have 10-15 students and a curriculum that can run between a quarter and semester of the school year.
– Choosing a topic or learning project that you are passionate about.
– Develop a daily or weekly curriculum to implement with a group of 10-15 students once per week for 1 hour.
– Put together lists of materials and supports needed from the School Community Coordinator to make your club run smoothly.
– Take attendance for your club
– Create something that is fun, engaging, and useful for students!
– Time Commitment per week (1 club)
o Club – 1 hour
o Club prep – 1 hour
o Club cleanup – 30 minutes

This is an in-person position with flexible schedule for the course of 10 weeks (9/19/22 – 12/01/22). The Campbell Community Learning Center Club Leader will work around 2.5 hours per week at a $15/hour rate.
