The Bureau of Business Research (BBR) is hiring for its Bureau Scholars Program. Undergraduate students are invited to apply for an intensive research experience, working on either a Bureau project or an economic research project of their own design. The goal of the Bureau Scholars Program is to provide students with an opportunity to work on advanced economic research at the undergraduate level. Employment as a Bureau Scholar provides opportunities to develop written research reports and make presentations (including a poster session at the research fair, and potentially a BBR Webinar). Scholars attend monthly seminars on advanced research topics designed to enhance their technical skills. Faculty and others working at the Bureau work closely with students on all projects. Students are paid a competitive wage by the Bureau and work 10-15 hours per week.
Preference will be shown to students with a major in the College of Business, economics, or agricultural economics, although others are welcome to apply. To apply for the position, please submit a cover letter and a current resume. Please make sure to include your current cumulative GPA as well as relevant technical skills and courses taken (e.g., statistics, programming, other computer skills, econometrics).
Students majoring in the College of Business may have the opportunity to enroll for a 0-credit option or can sign up for the for-credit option of 1, 2, or 3 credits for courses BSAD 395 or ECON 395. Students are encouraged to talk to their academic advisor to learn how this credit might apply to their academic program. Please note that this internship pays hourly compensation and does not cover the tuition costs for the aforementioned courses.
