Houses of Hope is hiring for part time Behavioral Health Technicians in our short term residential treatment programs. In these residential substance use/addiction treatment programs, technicians supervise program activities interact with residents and support their recovery efforts. Current open positions may include weekends and/or holidays **There is an additional .50 cent per hour shift differential for overnights and time and ½ for holidays.

Position Title: Technician – Part-Time
Supervised By: Technician Supervisor
Pay Grade/Classification: Support; Part-time; Non-Exempt

Licensure/other requirements: Valid Nebraska driver’s license; DMV record approval; Minimum age, 21.
CPR/First Aide and Med Aide preferred
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of education in related field, AND/OR two years of work experience in related field, AND/OR two years of lived recovery experience, to include: basic understanding of sociology, psychology, counseling or other related disciplines.
Must be available to work during non-traditional hours. Valid Nebraska driver’s license and good driving record. Minimum age, 21.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to: ascend/descend stairs while transporting up to 25 lbs.; position self by stooping, crouching and kneeling; stand, sit and walk for lengthy periods of time; move to/between different buildings and settings; position items up to 50 lbs. by pushing, pulling and or lifting; effectively use senses of smell, touch, speech, hearing and sight.
Job Summary: Facilitating the lived experience of individuals in service to create a welcoming, safe, clean, and healthy environment focused on recovery from substance use and mental health issues. Working independently on assigned duties and cooperatively within the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Openly communicating with supervisor and other staff on all issues related to individuals in service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Foster and maintain a welcoming, safe, clean, and recovery-oriented environment.
2. Interact with individuals in an empathic, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed manner at all times.
3. Project a professional demeanor, including maintaining professional boundaries.
4. Demonstrate knowledge, awareness and ability to implement agency policies and procedures.
5. Abide by all relevant compliance standards, including but not limited to 42-CFR-Part II and HIPAA.
6. Adhere to the agency’s organizational Code of Ethics.
7. Complete assigned intake tasks, as appropriate, and provide initial orientation to program and facility.
8. Administer drug screen/alcohol use testing via breathalyzer and/or urinalysis, as per agency guidelines.
9. Supervise individuals in service, redirecting and addressing behaviors that are outside of accepted norms and expectations, in line with program policies and procedures.
10. Remain calm, respond appropriately to, and resolve all emergency/crisis situations in line with program policies and procedures, including notifying designated staff after stabilization of situation.
11. Complete all assigned in-person and online trainings in a timely manner, including but not limited to: CPR, First Aid, CPI, and Medication Aide training, along with monthly All-Staff meetings.
12. Communicate all clinical concerns about individuals in service to the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
13. Document all significant clinical observations and interactions with individuals in service each shift.
14. Participate in any other assigned duties to fulfill objectives set by the Board of Directors as deemed necessary by the Program Director or Executive Director.
