If your answer to any of these questions is “yes,” the Trading and Shipping Finance and Risk Bootcamp program may be the perfect blend of your interests and an opportunity to learn about careers within this dynamic part of bp. This program is designed exclusively for university students expected to graduate between December 2025 – May 2026 and gives a deep dive into how Finance supports a Global Trading business and helps bp perform whilst it transforms. Some of the highlights of the Bootcamp include:
- Exploration of the T&S Finance & Risk function where you’ll learn about Commodity Risk, Market Risk, Accounting Policy, Structured Trade Finance, Credit Risk and Commercial Development.
- Gain real insight into life at bp through interactive presentations, discussions with leaders, and Q&A sessions with current employees in the Graduate Development Program (GDPs)
- Hearing directly from the recruitment team on the application/interview process
- Engagements with bp executives within Finance and Risk
- Learning about the bp Summer Internship and Graduate Development Programs
- Case study competition where you’ll put what you’ll learn into action
After successful completion of the Finance & Risk Bootcamp, participants will be eligible to submit early applications to the Trading & Shipping Finance internship program. If qualified, you will be invited to the formal interview process.
Virtual Program Dates:
The Finance & Risk Bootcamp will start on Monday, July 22nd, and will go through Wednesday, July 24th, 2022. The Virtual offering will commence at 9:00AM CST, ending at 3:00PM CST, approximately.
Application Process:
Complete the online application and if qualified, you will be invited to complete a HireVue virtual interview. Applications will be evaluated based on academic records, virtual interview responses, work experience, demonstrated leadership, community/extracurricular involvement, and interest/knowledge of the energy industry.

Requirements and Eligibility:
- To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Be eligible to work in the U.S. without work authorization now AND in the future
- Have a graduate date of December 2025 or May 2026
