Jordan Gonzales

Director of Alumni Engagement

Pronouns: He/Him/His

How did you gain experience when you were a student?

I learned a lot about responsibility, communication, teamwork, and leadership while being actively involved in student organizations outside of the classroom. I had on-campus jobs during the school year and the summer to help pay my tuition. This taught me how to be organized and prioritize effectively. These skills, along with a robust liberal arts education, prepared me to think critically and become a lifelong problem solver.

How did you become a career development professional?

My passion for helping others began in high school and college where I served as student body president. Getting to know people and their life stories fascinated me and unintentionally enabled me to build a large professional network. This allowed me to connect friends, colleagues, and acquaintances to great people and opportunities. I continue to empower others in my current role as the director of alumni engagement. I help provide our alumni and students and personal and professional development opportunities to advance their career and life goals.

Who is someone who impacted your career development?

A community of educators and mentors from Morrill, Kearney, and Lincoln helped me along the way. This includes my grandfather, George, who instilled the value of hard work and the determination to accomplish audacious goals.
