Welcome: Dr. Amy Goodburn

Dr. Amy Goodburn serves as a member of the University of Nebraska’s senior leadership and provides strategic direction to campus-wide initiatives focused on undergraduate retention, graduation, and time to degree. She’s a leader and champion for transforming student success initiatives and brings a particular focus on closing equity gaps. Dr. Goodburn is a historic champion of undergraduate career development as well.  We are grateful for her efforts to position career development within our most recent the HLC accreditation and she’s been a driving force behind establishing a campus-wide Experiential Learning requirement for all students as outlined by the N2025 strategic plan.

Keynote: The Power of Strengths: Behavioral Science Discoveries and Practices to Help You Thrive- with Dr. Tim Hodges, Director of the Clifton Strengths Institute .

The last two years have been challenging, to say the least! From the covid19 pandemic to geopolitical and racial unrest to wild swings in the economy and employment trends, we’ve all been challenged to rethink and reinvent the ways we lead. Ready for some good news? More than 20 years of research in the fields of positive psychology and behavioral economics has led to several tangible discoveries that we can integrate into our leadership. This session will review highlights from the behavioral science research and break it into tangible steps you can take to improve your life and the lives of those you lead and serve. The future is going to look different – let’s do all we can to make sure that it’s going to look better!

About the Clifton Strengths Institute: On the campus where strengths-based psychology first began, UNL undergraduate Business students take the CliftonStrengths assessment in the Investing in Strengths course and receive one-on-one coaching to achieve individualized academic, personal and professional success.
