Internship Courses

Some students choose to complete an academic course in conjunction with an internship. Those courses have various titles including Internship, Practicum, Professional Practice, Field Experience, Experiential Education, or Independent Study.
  • Some courses are open to all students, while others may be limited to students with a specific major, year in school, GPA, etc.
  • Typically, students must complete the internship in the same semester in which they are getting academic credit.
  • In most cases, students will work with faculty/advisor to gain permission to enroll in the course after researching and applying for potential internships.

Career Services teaches an internship course, Educational Psychology (EDPS) 496 which is open to all UNL students. Honors students may be able to earn honors hours through experiences, including internships/co-ops, in UHON 98H. Below are courses offered in specific departments.
